Sony’s latest Tornado rankings for anime recorded using the Torne recorder device has gotten a very surprising result as Sword Art Online II, which has so far dominated the anime rankings in Japan, finally gets knocked off the top spot. SAO II, which topped the initial rankings for the new Summer 2014 anime has been dominant as of late, yet the new rankings have shown that a certain anime is still going strong, and strong enough to stop the SAO hype train.
Here are the results gathered from people recording anime using the Torne devices in their PS4, PS3, PC, and PSVita for the period of June 30 – August 3, 2014:

None other than Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders topples the mighty Sword Art Online II to get the top spot in the Sony Tornado rankings. The anime, which premiered last April, is still going strong, managing to pull the rug from under the SAO II parade. Ora Ora Ora!
#3 ranked Terror in Resonance meanwhile continues its surprising run near the top of the Tornado Rankings as the anime about terrorism initially took the #2 spot in the Initial Rankings for the new Summer 2014 anime. Tokyo Ghoul and Aldnoah.Zero meanwhile continue their strong runs as well, while The Irregular At Magic High School still proves to be an anime powerhouse even with all the new popular anime titles.
