Sonic Mania, an all-night-long Friday concert that serves as a prelude to to Japanese rock festival Summer Sonic 2013 on August 10 and 11 (Sat & Sun) – is shaping up to be one electrifying event with artistes from all over the world performing. Artistes like The Pet Shop Boys, Steve Aoki and Perfume are all scheduled to perform.
Now, a new artist has been announced to join the fray; Enter Hatsune Miku. Yes, one of the most popular vocaloids out there will be performing live along with the biggest names in music for Sonic Mania 2013. (More Hatsune Miku on SGCafe, just click here and also, more about concerts here at SGCafe)
The virtual 16-year old artist will make full use of the latest 3D video technology as well as a live band for her performance. It has been reported that she will be donning a futuristic look for the much awaited event. This new announcement of her inclusion certainly makes this big event even larger.
Sonic Mania is the pre-cursor event to the huge weekend music festival known as Summer Sonic which comes a day later.
Summer Sonic 2013 will be held for two days (August 10- 11) in two simultaneous locations; Tokyo and Osaka. The Tokyo location will be held on QVC Marine Field and Makuhari Messe while in Osaka, there will be a special venue known as the Maishima Summer Sonic Osaka special site. The event will be held from August 10- 11 for both sites.
International artistes like Linkin Park, Earth, Wind and Fire, John Legend and Metallica are already announced to perform in Summer Sonic 2013 with more performers to be announced in days to come.
