With the manga ending with the next issue of Kodansha’s Young Magazine, the manga’s final moments will get animated. The new animated series will be called “Final Stage” and will include the fierce and decisive Kanto final round.
Initial D is a popular car racing manga by Shuuichi Shigeno and ran for more than 18 years. The manga follows Takumi Fujiwara, a high school boy with a natural talent for driving. Shigeno started the manga in 1995 and has become extremely popular as it has inspired several anime series, a live-action movie and a popular video game series.
The manga is serialized in Kodansha’s Young Magazine and will have it’s final curtain call with issue #34 which will be released next week on July 29. Shigeno has already announced the manga’s inevitable end last March.
