The game is being developed by the fine folks over at Spike Chunsoft, possibly best known for their work on the Dangan Ronpa series.

No other details on the Attack on Titan 3DS game was given, but more specifics will be unveiled in the October issue of Betsukan Shounen Magazine that’s slated to go on newsstands in Japan September 9.

The 3DS Attack on Titan game is the first time the manga and anime franchise is appearing as a console video game. Currently, however, there is an Attack on Titan online social game – entitled Attack on Titan: The Wings of Counter-Offense Online (進撃の巨人 -反撃の翼- ONLINE) – available for Web browsers, as well as on the Mobage and GREE mobile gaming networks.

Apart from the 3DS game announcement, the special booklet also revealed that the manga series has surpassed 23 million copies in total sales, and that an Attack on Titan “Another Story” will begin serialisation in Monthly Shounen Sirius.
