Bikkuriman, those oh-so-yummy chocolate wafers that come with cool-looking stickers have been well prized among Japanese collectors since the 1980′s. Now, Index Corp gives their own twist to this classic Japanese treat with the Persona 3 Bikkuriman.
The stickers are drawn by Satoshi Hyodo and Minoru Yonezawa, both of whom are responsible for the success and popularity of Bikkuriman.
The stickers, known as “Super P3 Seal” show off your favorite P3 characters. There are 29 different designs in all so interested collectors better work hard to get all of them.
This collaboration is to promote the upcoming Persona 3 movie which will hit Japanese theaters starting November 23, 2013. The movie, titled “Persona 3 The Movie: Chapter 1, Spring of Birth” will be the first in a series of movies based on the classic PlayStation 2 video game.
The P3 Bikkuriman will be distributed to movie goers and each week, there will be different kinds of ”Super P3 Seals” released.
From November 23-29, there will be 10 types of P3 Bikkuriman released, with a different set of 10 released from November 30-December 6. Meanwhile, only 9 types will be released from December 7-13.
According to Yonezawa, making the P3 characters into those cutesy Bikkuriman stickers was certainly tough.
