Remember those trains passing overhead in the opening of Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai or OreImo? That is actually the Chiba Urban Monorail.
Several trains in the Monorail have been wrapped in OreImo designs since April and the fans have truly appreciated it.
The OreImo trains were supposed to run only until September this year. However, due to the significant rise in the number of passengers riding the trains since they first donned the OreImo designs, the management of the Chiba Urban Monorail has decided to extend this collaboration until next Spring in 2014.
This may be due to the fact that many fans have made the Chiba Monorail as part of their anime pilgrimages since it has been featured countless times during the anime. The OreImo trains may have amplified that effect since the Chiba Monorail management has admitted that there are more passengers now than before the OreImo designs were implemented.
It seems that despite the controversial ending, OreImo is still going strong and fans are still embracing Kirino, Kuroneko, Ayase and the rest of the gang, as is shown by the rise in the Chiba Monorail’s popularity.
