Dengeki Bunko is celebrating its 20th anniversary and as part of the celebrations, they have recently held the Dengeki Game Festival 2014 yesterday, March 16, 2014 at the Bellesalle Akihabara UDX and people turned out in droves just to attend the event.
The event had plenty of surprises from two new Hyperdimension Neptunia games to the third game in Atelier’s Dusk series as well as a preview of the upcoming Atelier Escha & Logy anime.
The Durarara!! event meanwhile announced a new anime for the series which got many fans all riled up.
A panel also talked about the upcoming Dengeki Bunko cross-over arcade game, Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax and they talked about the game’s main fighters, Kuroyukihime (Accel World), Shizuo (Durarara!!), Kirino (OreImo), Tomoka (Ro-Kyu-Bu!) and Kirito (Sword Art Online) as well as announced a collaboration with browser rpg Hyaku-nen Senki: Euro Historia. More details on this collaboration will be announced in days to come.
Speaking of Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, several lucky event-goers got to play the game even before its release. I wish I could have tried it out myself.
Namco Bandai meanwhile had a photo booth set up and it features three of their latest games, Sword Art Online Hollow Fragment, iDOLM@STER: One For All, and Girls und Panzer: Master, Senshadou!
Chocolate mosaics featuring Kino’s Journey’s titular character, Kino, as well as Durarara!!’s Shizuo and Izaya were also on display
Several Dengeki Bunko game merchandise were also featured during the event
Finally, no event will ever be complete without cosplay, right? Since this is Dengeki Bunko, cosplayers dressing up as characters from their most popular series like Strike the Blood, Accel World, OreImo and A Certain series were all present.
There were also cosplayers promoting upcoming games like Gunslinger Stratos 2 and Lord of Vermilion III
