Square Enix has been quite mysterious this week. On April Fool’s Day, they teased a “light novel-style RPG” with a cast of over 25 popular voice actresses. People may have dismissed it as a joke, but now the Japanese gaming giant has released a video that shows it might be completely real.
Strangely, the teaser video doesn’t include any images other than the words “The New Game’s Voice & Sound: First Reveal”. However, it does have various female characters speaking to melancholy background music.
The dialogue can be translated as below:
“In this place, time flows differently than in our world. Things like common sense serve no purpose here.”
“I beg you… please return me to my world.”
“Even now, unbeknownst to everyone, a countless number of members continue to fight.”
“I’ll destroy them! Even if it costs me this body!”
“This is where I belong!”
“I always believed you would come back!”
“Until now, I have always longed for someone to change the world.”
“No matter how much you treasure something, it can still be lost.”
“I wonder if I can be useful to the team, the way I am now…”
“I just… want you to look at me…”
“…Because if I don’t kill… I will be killed.”
“When the fighting ends, I want to do the things that I really want to do.”
Along with the video, Square Enix opened a teaser site with the mysterious name, “stellaprisma”. Just three days earlier, they opened another teaser site for a “light novel-style RPG” that included a cast of these 25 voice actresses, including many big names and some rising stars.
