First screenshots and video released for Omega Quintet [video]

Compile Heart have tried their hand at idol games before with Hyperdimension Neptunia PP, but now they’re dedicating their newest RPG to idols who must carry the fate of the world on their shoulders.


Omega Quintet, (*ω* Quintet) will be Compile Heart’s first PlayStation 4 game and the second game in their Galapagos RPG brand. The first Galapagos RPG game was Fairy Fencer F, an RPG that combined the character designer of Hyperdimension Neptunia with the composer and artist of Final Fantasy.


Omega Quintet takes place in a world that is being tormented by a mysterious force called the “beep”, and the last hope for humanity is a group of five pure-hearted “idols” (spelled with the kanji for “song” and “shrine maiden”). Character designs are done by Fukahire (Monster Monpiece) while the music is produced by Lantis and Idea Factory’s WILL.


Compile Heart has also released a teaser video with a glimpse of the idols in motion:
