In anime, there are plenty of unforgettable classics, especially in the mecha genre. Sure, “Real Robot” series like Gundam and Macross, and even Evangelion may come up more often than some “Super Robot” titles nowadays, but that does not make them any less unforgettable.
Mecha toy makers Evolution Toy is known for paying homage to these Super Robot classics and in a special event held in Akihabara’s Tsuun Hall last July 7, 2014, they displayed some of their latest figures from these old school mecha classics which can certainly take many of the older and mecha anime fans waaaaaaaaay back into their childhoods.
The exhibition featured plenty of memorable mechas from several classic anime like Tetsujin, Super Robot Mach Baron, Lightspeed Electroid Albegas, Gattai Robot Musashi, Galaxy Cyclone Braiger, Daikengo, and many many more
The Getter Robots were also well represented
And what Super Robot show would be complete without some Mazinger Z?
The other mechas included are Chojin Sentai Barattack, Denjin Zaborger from the classic tokusatsu series, Dai Guard, Gaiking: Legend of Daiku-Maryu, plenty of Steel Jeeg toys and others
Evolution Toy’s display truly brings back plenty of childhood memories with all those old school robots, especially Mazinger Z and Getter Robo. Looks like these mechs won’t be forgotten very easily.
