The Irregular At Magic High School and Riddle Story of Devil win big in the July 2014 Newtype Rankings

Spring 2014 is already in its final stages and it certainly has offered up some great new anime, and with that, Newtype Magazine has just revealed their rankings for July 2014 which show how popular some of the series are. The big winners for this latest rankings are seinen anime The Irregular at Magic High School and yuri anime Riddle Story of Devil who have become two of Spring 2014′s most successful series so far. Here are the results:

MALE RANKINGS:

1) Tatsuya Shiba (The Irregular At Magic High School)

2) Kirito (Sword Art Online)

3) Kira Yamato (Mobile Suit Gundam SEED)

4) Jotaro Kujo (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Stardust Crusader)

5) Raku Ichijo (Nisekoi)

6) Koyomi Araragi (Monogatari series)

7) Lelouch Vi Britannia (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion)

8) Rentarou Satomi (Black Bullet)

9) Tooru Acura (Chaika The Coffin Princess)

10) Hase Yuuki  (One Week Friends)

Tatsuya Shiba edges out NewType ranking mainstays Kirito and Kira Yamato while Jojo’s Jotaro Kujo is rising up the rankings going from #9 to #4.

FEMALE RANKINGS

1) Tokaku Azuma (Riddle Story of Devil)

2) Chaika Trabant (Chaika The Coffin Princess)

3) Saber (Fate series)

4) Lacus Clyne (Mobile Suit Gundam SEED)

5) Miyuki Shiba (The Irregular At Magic High School)

6) Kosaki Onodera (Nisekoi)

7) Mikasa Ackerman (Attack on Titan)

8) Nico Yazawa (Love Live!)

9) Tohka Yatogami (Date A Live)

10) Chitoge Kirisaki (Nisekoi)

The cool and calculating assassin with a huge crush on her target, Tokaku edges out the coffin princess herself, Chaika Trabant who has become a huge internet meme as of late. Saber and Lacus meanwhile have stayed as Newtype Ranking mainstays and looks like their popularity has not waned a bit. Miyuki meanwhile makes it to the top 5 cementing The Irregular at Magic High School’s dominance in this month’s rankings. Oh, and here’s the memetic coffin princess herself

SERIES RANKINGS:

2) Riddle Story of Devil

3) Mobile Suit Gundam UC

4) Love Live!

5) Chaika The Coffin Princess

6) Knights of Sidonia

7) Mekaku City Actors

One particular series which did not make it to the rankings at all (No Game No Life) and it seems that many have been shocked. From the looks of things, The Irregular at Magic High School and Riddle Story of Devil are truly these rankings best.
