Since 1962, The Tokyo Toy Show has been Japan’s most important toy fair and with its 2014 edition already underway, several new images from the event’s buyers days (June 12-14) have surfaced.
Let’s start things off with Bandai who have made plenty of great announcements including a Chogokin figure of the classic 1960′s anime Voltes V. They also surprised everyone with their Chogokin Doaremon robot which also includes Perman. They also surprised everyone by releasing a figure of a Samurai-inspired Darth Vader as well as an SH FiguArts version of the Sith Lord. Well, it seems as if they really timed it near FATHER’S DAY of all things. They also released new painted versions of Sailor Moon’s resident lesbian couple, Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune as well as their usual GunPlas like the 35th Anniversary GunPla set which includes a 1/144 RG RX-78-2 Gundam and 1/35 scale Zaku II head.
Patlabor gained some great attention as Bandai showed off their 1/48 scale Type-98 Ingram
The Ninja Turtles were also present along with some Sylvannian Family mascots and some Storm Troopers
Takara Tomy meanwhile displayed some transformers and model cars
Meanwhile, miniature Love Live! and Kantai Collection figures were on full display thanks to Takara Tomy’s Microman Arts
And here are some of the other displays from the event
Now did that cause your wallets to bleed? The Tokyo Toy Show 2014 will only be open for buyers and suppliers during June 12 and 13 but will be open to the public from June 14-15, 2014 at the Tokyo Big Sight
