Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation adopts a new moe mascot, Media Liner-chan

To appeal to a larger audience, big companies have adopted moe anime girls as their mascots, and some have reached some great heights in terms of popularity. Companies like Nitroplus have Super Sonico while Microsoft’s Internet Explorer has made an even wider appeal since they introduced Inori Aizawa.

This time, the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation joins the fray as they have introduced their own moe anime girl mascot, Media Liner-chan.

She has been spotted in several advertisements inside some of the trains in Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation’s Toei Ooedo line.

Whether she will reach the popularity of Inori Aizawa or Super Sonico (who even got her own TV anime series as well as various video games) still remains to be seen, but it seems that she is well on her way as some passengers have already commented that she is “kawaii” or just too cute. Do you think she could appeal to more people?
