Anime duels often go over-the-top, and a lot of them are ones we will never forget. For this week’s Charapedia poll, the Japanese anime character database has asked the fans the question of which duel from Japanese animation is the one they find most memorable.
With 10,000 votes, 68.8% of whom are male while only 31.2% are female, Charapedia has announced the Top 20 most memorable duel in anime, and here they are:
20) Kenshirou vs. Raoh (Fist of the North Star)
19) Light Yagami vs. L (Death Note)
18) Titan Eren vs. Female Titan (Attack on Titan)
17) Conan Edogawa vs. Kaito Kid (Detective Conan)
16) Gintoki Sakata vs. Housen (Gintama)
15) Gintoki Sakata vs. Shinsuke Takasugi (Gintama)
14) Homura Akemi vs. Mami Tomoe (Madoka Magica the Movie 3: The Rebellion Story)
13) Daiki Aomine vs. Ryota Kise (Kuroko’s Basketball)
12) Nanoha Takamachi vs. Fate Testarossa (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha)
11) Kiritsugu Emiya vs. Kotomine Kirei (Fate/ Zero)
10) Kenshin Himura vs. Makoto Shishio (Rurouni Kenshin)

Considered one of the greatest rivalries in anime, Naruto and Sasuke have built a complicated relationship of sorts and their fights have gained so much notoriety that it was popular enough to take the #1 spot in Charapedia’s list, beating out legendary duels like Kenshin vs. Shishio, Goku vs. Frieza, Touma vs. Accelerator, and Amuro vs. Char.
The #2 ranked fight meanwhile showed that you don’t have to have ridiculous amounts of power to win a fight as Touma battled the strongest esper in Academy City, Accelerator, in an drag-out fist fight where the “weakest” Level 0 triumphed over the “strongest” Level 5
And then there’s Goku vs. Frieza…
