Japanese animation studio, SHAFT, best known for their unforgettable anime and lots of head tilting, is celebrating their 40th anniversary with an exhibition tour known as Madogatari, which is highlighted by two of the studio’s most popular series, Madoka Magica and the Monogatari series.
The visitors of the exhibition were also asked to participate in an official poll, which garnered approximately 11,000 votes. There, fans were asked which SHAFT heroine is their favorite, and the winners were finally announced, and unsurprisingly, two series dominated. Here are the Top 10 (or Top 11 because there was a tie)
11 – 10 (TIE) – Erio Touwa (Ground Control to Psychoelectric Girl) and Yuno (Hidamari Sketch)
9 – Sayaka Miki (Madoka Magica)
8 – Nadeko Sengoku (Monogatari Series)
7 – Madoka Kaname (Madoka Magica)
6 – Mayoi Hachikuji (Monogatari Series)
5 – Tsubasa Hanekawa (Monogatari Series)
4 – Kyouko Sakura (Madoka Magica)
3 – Hitagi Senjougahara (Monogatari Series)
2 – Homura Akemi (Madoka Magica)
1 – Shinobu Oshino (Monogatari Series)
Of the poll’s 11,000 votes, 1,867 votes went to Shinobu, while 1,162 votes went to HomuHomu, and 774 went to Hitagi. The lovable vampire is officially SHAFT’s most popular heroine, in a poll dominated by Madoka Magica and Monogatari heroines, with only two heroines from other series included in the Top 10. Surprisingly, no Nisekoi heroine made it to the Top 10.
