Tabletop gamers, rejoice! This is because Kadokawa has revealed that they will be releasing a brand new official tabletop board game for Sword Art Online titled “Sword Art Online: Sword of Fellows”.
The board game will be based on the franchise’s very first arc, which is Aincrad. Players must fight monsters, survive and reach the Top Floor of Aincrad in order to complete the game.
The game will feature several Sword Art Online characters, including Kirito and Asuna. As for the package itself, it contains six character cards, ten scenario cards, eight item cards, one support card, four main dice, four support dice, six character dice, and 30 tokens. The game is recommended for players ages 10 and over, and required play time is approximately 30 minutes. A total of 1 – 4 players can play the game, so if you wanna go all lone swordsman like Kirito or have a party with Asuna, Lisbeth, and Silica, go on ahead!
Renowned Japanese tabletop game designer, Seiji Kanai, is the one responsible for the game’s design. Kadokawa will be releasing the game on June 29, 2017 for 3,000 yen plus tax.
