Actress Suzu Hirose is returning to reprise her role as Chihaya Ayase in the third and latest live-action movie adaptation of Yuki Suetsugu’s Chihayafuru manga. Now, new details about the live-action film have emerged.
During the Sanuki Film Festival 2017 in Kanagawa, the films’ director, Norihiro Koizumi, revealed that this third film will be set three years after the events of the first two films. It will follow Chihaya, Taichi, and Arata who are now third year high school students.
The director revealed that the film will focus more on the love triangle between Chihaya, Taichi, and Arata, as well as the rivalry between Chihaya and Shinobu Wakamiya. He also stated that filming will begin this spring.
According to Koizumi, series creator Yuki Suetsugu has already approved of the film’s script. The first film premiered last March, while the second film premiered last April.
