Some anime have always been known for the music, from Macross to The iDOLM@STER to UtaPri to Detroit Metal City to Love Live!, it’s all about the music. Most musical anime don’t just feature solo artistes, but an entire group or band, andand Charapedia has asked 10,000 anime fans (66.6% male, 33.4% female) to vote for their favorite anime musical group. 49 groups or bands have been included in the list, but only the Top 20 were named, and they are:

15 – Wakaba Girls (K-On!)

13 – Walküre (Macross Delta)
12 – BiBi (Love Live!)
11 – CINDERELLA PROJECT (The iDOLM@STER – Cinderella Girls)
10 – THE Sketch Book (Sket Dance)
9 – Plasmagica (ShowBy Rock!!)
8 – ENOZ (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)
7 – 765PRO ALLSTARS (The iDOLM@STER)
6 – Fire Bomber (Macross 7)
5 – QUARTET ☆ NIGHT (UtaPri)
4 – ST ☆ RISH (UtaPri)
3 – Girls Dead Monster (Angel Beats!)
2 – μ’s (Love Live!)
1 – Houkago Tea Time/ HTT (K-On!)
While Love Live! is certainly very popular these days, μ’s has failed to reach the top spot in this week’s Charapedia rankings, as HTT proves that it still has some major staying power, and enough to beat Love Live!. Meanwhile, Girls Dead Monster gets third place, beating out TWO entries from UtaPri to round out the Top 5.
μ’s rivals, The iDOLM@STER’s 765Pro ALLSTARS only ranked #7, while the Cinderella Project failed to make the Top 10. The Macross series manages to add two entries in these rankings, with Fire Bomber at #6, and the newest group, Walküre, with still a lot to prove, gets #13.
