Dragon Ball now has its own official Monopoly game

The classic board game which can destroy friendships is getting a new version, and this time, it’s inspired by Dragon Ball! After getting an Attack on Titan, Final Fantasy VII, Game of Thrones, and even a The Walking Dead version, Monopoly is going all Super Saiyan with their latest version!

Known as Dragon Ball Z Monopoly, the game is now available for pre-orders for US$39.95 at USAopoly. However, we still don’t know when they will be releasing this game, as no release date has been set yet. Here’s a look at the game board and its pieces:

Instead of the traditional real estate you see in normal Monopoly games, this one has Kame houses, Hyperbolic Time Chambers, and many more. They also have Capsule Corp. and Red Ribbon Army cards to replace the usual Chance and Community Chest cards. This begs the question, will the money in this version be Zeni? You know, Dragon Ball’s in-story currency…

Hayate the Combat Butler manga is ending exactly on April 12, 2017

After revealing that Kenjiro Hata’s Hayate the Combat Butler manga is ending in six more chapters, Weekly Shounen Sunday’s official website now reveals an exact date on when the manga will end. According to the announcement, the manga will end in the magazine’s 20th issue, due out on April 12, 2017.

The manga is one of Shounen Sunday’s longest running manga, and has tickled the hearts of fans since 2004. Kenjirou Hata’s long-running harem manga has enjoyed over a decade of success, getting TV anime adaptations in 2007, 2009, 2012, and 2013, as well as an anime film, and an OVA series. It is a feat that is very difficult to achieve in the cut-throat manga industry, which is known for the high level of competition, as several manga series abruptly end on less than 10 chapters. It is regarded as one of the most successful titles in Weekly Shounen Sunday, and that is speaking a lot.

Life-size bikini figure of To Love-Ru"s Lala Deviluke announced to celebrate manga"s ending

Lala Deviluke started out as the main heroine for To Love-Ru, however, as Rito’s Harem started growing, she just started becoming “one of the girls”. Now however, she’s finally getting the spotlight once again, as Jump Square announces that she’s getting her own life-size figure as part of the celebrations for the ending of the To Love-Ru Darkness manga.

The life-size figure will feature Lala wearing a Bikini… with Peko in her hair of course. Details are still a bit scarce, but expect more announcements about the figure to be revealed soon.

Oh, and apparently, they will be selling it too! But don’t expect the Lala statue to be cheap. Previously, Max Factory released a life-size statue of Lala’s sister, Momo. The statue was sold too, but it came with a 2.5 million yen price tag. Time to start only eating instant noodles and just drinking water people!

So, Samuel L. Jackson just admitted he likes Anime... and Hentai too!

Samuel L. Jackson is one of Hollywood’s biggest and brightest stars Motherf*****rs! Yes, he’s got one of the dirtiest mouths in Hollywood, but people love him for it! Aside from the usual twitter feuds with President Donald Trump and the usual Star Wards Badassery and his lovable F bombs and commanding SHIELD and saving the world with the Avengers, the actor also made voice acting appearances in anime like Afro Samurai.

Recently, Sammy L appeared in a video produced by popular YouTube channel called WIRED. In the video, he decided to answer a few questions about him which are searched by people on Google. Using the search engine’s auto-fill feature, he googled his name and answered a few questions he found. This included something concerning anime.

One of the questions asked the Jedi Master and SHIELD director if he liked anime. He answered with

“Yes, and hentai, too,”

Hayao Miyazaki"s return to film making will fail says Gainax Co-Founder Toshio Okada

It may not have been green-lit yet, but Hayao Miyazaki’s apparent return to film making has generated a ton of hype. In his live-streaming program, Gainax co-founder Toshio Okada weighed in on the matter. The self-proclaimed “OtaKing” said in his program that he believes that the Oscar winner’s return to making feature films is already doomed to fail.

Okada said that Miyazaki won’t be able to make the same quality of work as he did in his prime. The Gainax Co-founder also said that he watched NHK’s latest documentary about Miyazaki and saw the preview of his Studio Ghibli Museum short, Boro the Caterpillar. He was not impressed.

He alluded to Miyazaki getting older, and said that the legendary director might not be able to keep up to the rigors of animating anymore. He said that while Miyazaki might have been used to working 12 – 14 hours a day, he might not be able to only last working for two or three hours these days. He even added that Miyazaki might even need to visit a chiropractor for his back after working those short hours… OUCH!

Okada then added that when he saw the NHK special, he thought that Miyazaki’s own “personal power” is already faltering. He then said that the Ghibli co-founder’s latest works demonstrated Miyazaki’s failing image.

However, Okada did admit that he wanted to see Miyazaki return, and it would be fitting for the legendary director to go like legendary mangaka Osamu Tezuka, and that is to die with a pen in hand. He noted that dying doing what you love is the dream of many creators in the anime industry, and that includes himself. He said that Miyazaki also wants to go that way.

What do you guys think of Okada’s comments? Do you think the OtaKing is right? Or do you think that Miyazaki will surprise him if he does indeed return?

The live-action Ghost in the Shell movie may have divided fans, but in Japan, it’s coming in with a ton of hype. Yes folks, people in Japan are actually excited for Scarlett Johansson starring in Ghost in the Shell. Now, Paramount Pictures Japan has released an exclusive trailer for the country.

The new video introduces all the action, and is even narrated by one of Japan’s greatest voice actors, Kouichi Yamadera. Yamadera voiced Togusa in the original 1995 anime movie, and is also known for voicing Cowboy Bebop’s Spike Spiegel.

The live-action Ghost in the Shell movie will premiere in Japan on April 7, 2017, which is just a week after its US release on March 31. Paramount Pictures Japan also revealed the upcoming film’s Japanese poster, which introduces the Section 9 members:

The film boasts an international cast which will make up Section 9. Ghost in the Shell original director and writer, Mamoru Oshii, Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex director and writer, Kenji Kamiya, and Ghost in the Shell musical composer, Kenji Kawai,  previously visited the set and posed with the film’s stars, including Scarlett Johansson herself.

Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders is at the helm of the project as director, and DreamWorks Pictures producing the movie.

So what do you think of Scarlett Johansson possibly playing Motoko Kusanagi? Will this go the “Edge of Tomorrow” route and be a huge success, or will this go the “Dragon Ball Evolution” route and fail miserably? Only time will tell so let’s keep our fingers crossed.

Compared to Miura’s previous hiatuses, this one seems a bit short, huh? This return comes just in time too! Because as the Berserk manga returns, so does the anime. In fact, the Berserk anime will be making its return next season, on April 7, 2017 to be exact. Here’s the anime’s new visual:

A previous visual for the anime also teased the Berserker Armor, which would be quite central to the story.

[VIDEO] Jojo"s Bizarre Adventure live-action movie gets a new trailer and poster visual

Kento Yamazaki will be starring as the fourth Jojo, Jousuke Higashikata, in the live-action movie adaptation of part 4 of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. Now, he finally takes center stage, as the official Jojo movie YouTube channel has started streaming the movie’s brand new teaser trailer:

The video teases several Jojo characters, including the third Jojo, Jotaro Kujo, played by Yuseke Iseya. It also teases the movie’s setting, Morioh City, which in real life is the Spanish town of Sitges. They also revealed a new poster visual featuring Yamazaki as Jousuke.

Kento Yamazaki was previously revealed in costume as Josuke Higashikata, the 4th Jojo and main character of the movie. The live-action film will be adapting part 4 of the long-running series, and will be making its premiere on August 8, 2017.

The film will be directed by Takashi Miike (Crows Zero, Live-action Terraformars) and will be a co-production between Warner Brothers and TOHO. It aims to cover the entire fourth part, which follows the adventures of Jousuke, with Jotaro acting as his mentor. Because Part 4 is actually quite long, TBS producer Takashi Hirano has said that they are looking into making sequels for the film to fit the entire story of part 4.

Filming was done in the Spanish town of Sitges, though they did admit that they already knew that the original manga was set in Japan. They decided to adapt Part 4 because it featured a Japanese protagonist, therefore eliminating the “Racelift” allegations.
