Hatsune Miku celebrates her 10th birthday with new art book by original designer KEI

10 years ago, KEI designed a character which would help shape Japanese pop culture. He helped introduce us to the teal-colored, twin-tailed virtual diva known as Hatsune Miku. Now, 10 years after he designed her, KEI is releasing a 10th Anniversary Artbook for Miku, and it’s titled “mikulife”.

The artbook will contain 128 pages, with over 100 artworks featuring the virtual diva. Kadokawa will be accepting pre-orders until June 12, before releasing it on August 31, 2017.

Aside from being Miku’s original character designer, Kei is also responsible for crafting the designs of Crypton’s other Vocaloid characters, including the Kagamine twins, Rin and Len, as well as Megurine Luka. His design for Miku set the standard for the teal-haired, twin-tailed virtual angel for years to come.
