In the seventh volume of Overlord, a dark fantasy light novel series written by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by so-bin, plans for an anime adaptation has been announced. Further details will be revealed at a later date.
Overlord is a story about a salary man who stays online despite the MMORPG he plays halts its services. He eventually becomes a strong skeletal wizard. He starts to take over what remains of the virtual world and is attracting new followers.
The light novel series has sold over 400,000 copies in Japan. It is published by Kadokawa’s brand company, Enterbrain.
