Two of Capcom’s most successful gaming franchises are crossing paths, but it won’t be happening in a video game because it will happen live on stage as a live-action cross-over stage play has been announced and it pits Sengoku Basara against Devil May Cry!
The live-action cross-over stage play was announced during the Niconico Chou Kaigi 2015 event and it will feature Dante, Lady, Trish, and Vergil accidentally getting sent back in time to Japan’s Sengoku era where they meet the Sengoku Basara versions of the Sengoku era Samurai like Date Masamune, Sanada Yukimura, Akechi Mitsuhide, and many more.
The play will be held at the AiiA 2.5 Theater in Tokyo from August 20 – 30, 2015, and tickets will cost 7,500 yen. Capcom, which produces both games, will be quite active in making the play as Hideaki Itsuno and Izaki Matsuno will be involved in making the script while Hiroyuki Kobayashi and Makoto Yamamoto, who have both worked in Sengoku Basara games, will be supervising the play.
The play’s Devil May Cry cast will star Hiroki Suzuki as Dante, Shouhei Namba as Vergil, and Tomokazu Yoshida as Nelo Angelo, with the actresses for Lady and Trish being announced in the future. The Sengoku Basara cast meanwhile will star Daichi Yamaguchi as Date Masamune, Ryuunosuke Matsumura as Sanada Yukimura, Tatsuya Isaka as Maeda Toshimatsu, Kousei Sakurada as Azai Nagamasa, Yoshikazu Kotani as Mori Motonari, and Masashi Taniguchi as Akechi Mitsuhide
