Dengeki Bunko, which publishes Kazuma Kamachi’s A Certain Magical Index light novels, already knows that fans really want to see a season 3 for the TV anime adaptation. In fact, the light novel’s own editor, Kazuma Miki, has acknowledged the demand time and time again.
During the “New Work Announcement” panel discussion during the “Dengeki Game Festival 2017 & Dengeki Bunko Spring Festival 2017 & Dengeki Comic Festival 2017” event, Editor Miki revealed that A Certain Magical Index will be having a new fighting game titled Toaru Majutsu no Virtual-On. The game is a cross-over between the light novel and Sega’s Virtual On video game. But after talking about the game, Miki talked about season 3…
Miki told fans to “please wait a little longer for season 3!” Though he did not specify which anime it is, many fans already know what series he’s talking about. Miki also serves as a producer for the various anime for the A Certain series. The editor and anime producer previously talked about season 3 on twitter, telling fans in an unofficial statement that season 3 is “plausible”.
The season 3 of A Certain Magical Index has been demanded by fans for a long time now, and it has even become a meme in several anime circles. Well, it does seem that Dengeki Bunko knows that the fans really want to see season 3, however, it also seems that we may be waiting a while longer to see it. Take note JC Staff, the fans are seriously waiting.
As for the new fighting game, Sega will be shipping it for both PS4 and PS Vita platforms in 2018.
