Winter 2017 is now in its final month this March, and as the season is winding down to its final few episodes, Kadokawa Ascii Research Laboratories took a look at which anime from this season is being talked about in twitter the most. They tracked which anime were being talked about the most in twitter from the period of January 24 and February 21. Here are the Top 10:
10 – ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Department
9 – BanG Dream!
8 – Scum’s Wish
7 – Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid
6 – Saga of Tanya the Evil
5 – KonoSuba 2
4 – Kirakira ☆ Precure a la Mode
3 – Granblue Fantasy The Animation
2 – Gintama (2017)
1 – Kemono Friends
Kemono Friends is one of this season’s biggest jewels and definitely a sleeper hit. Not only is it fun to watch, but it’s also quite educational. The anime won by a large margin, as it received 1,257,696 tweets about it from that period, as compared to what Gintama received, which is just 314,270 tweets. Truly dominating indeed.
However, the biggest surprise came from an anime which hasn’t even premiered yet! It’s set to premiere in April, but it still counted in the rankings as Zinkenstill-Hen was introduced last January. PreCure also made a surprise, beating out other season favorites like Scum’s Wish, Saga of Tanya the Evil, and Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.
