We’ve seen them in the live-action trailer, and now, Sara Takatsuki and Mao Kanjou have officially been announced to play Kusunoki Yukimura and Rika Shiguma respectively in the live action movie adaptation of the extremely popular anime and light novel series, Boku Wa Tomodachi Ga Sakunai.
Sara Takatsuki who plays Yukimura faces the challenge of aiming to be a real man… even if the character is dressed in a cute maid outfit while Mao Kanjou who plays Rika must balance out her character’s genius intellect, her deep understanding of the relationships within the Neighbor’s Club and of course, Rika’s signature perverted nature.
Takatsuki admitted that she had a bit of trouble acting out Yukimura’s characteristics, especially on how she speaks. Kanjou on the other hand expressed her excitement about the role and that she enjoyed acting out Rika’s perverted delusions.
Sara Takatsuki has appeared in several Japanese movies and dramas like Joker Game and the live-action drama adaptation of Great Teacher Onizuka where she played Haruka Kawae.
Mao Kanjou on the other hand is known for cosplaying Haruhi Suzumiya.
Sara Takatsuki and Mao Kanjou will join gravure idol Mio Otani who plays Sena, actor and singer Koji Seto who plays Kodaka and actress Kitano Kie who plays Yozora. Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (Haganai) is slated to hit Japanese theaters next year, January 2014.
