Doraemon has been one of the most celebrated manga and anime series in history and Premium Bandai is celebrating the all-time classic with a 1/1 scale Doraemon doll.
This doll is being created to celebrate the 80th birthday of the late great Fujiko .F. Fujio, one of the two writers responsible for writing the manga, the other being the Fujiko Fujio A. Fujiko .F. Fujio and Fujiko Fujio A make up the writing duo known as Fujiko Fujio and together, they wrote Doraemon. The manga writer is also responsible for other manga classics like Mojako and Perman. His partner, Fujiko Fujio A has recently led other manga writers in drawing some priceless graffiti artwork in the old Shogakukan building.
The doll is 110 cm tall and 95 cm wide and it weighs in at 11.3 kg. This stuffed toy is made of 100% polyester and is quite soft to the touch since it is stuffed with cotton fibers. The life-size stuffed toy will be released December 2013.
This doll may be as big as the real one, but unfortunately it does not come with Doraemon’s usual gadgets so don’t expect it to pull out a time machine from its pocket out of the blue.
Because this doll does not have the real Doraemon’s powers, this doll only costs a measly 194,250 yen (approximately US$ 1,950), so it’s completely affordable, right? It can be ordered online for that very low price via the Premium Bandai shop.
