Charapedia ranks the top 10 most memorable anime OP and ED songs

Anime opening and ending songs have proven to be very popular with some of them topping the Oricon charts in Japan while some have been considered by many as classics.

Japanese anime website, Charapedia has asked people online which anime OP and ED song do they think is the most memorable, and an overwhelming 10,000 people responded. 53.4% of the respondents are males while 46.6% of them are females. Here are their top 10 most memorable anime OP and ED songs:

The OP songs outnumber the ED song 8 to 2 in Charapedia’s list with fripside’s very popular OP song, Only My Railgun which is still popular among anime fans five years after the anime first aired.

Bakemonogatari ED theme Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari meanwhile was one of only two ED songs on the list, but it ranked very high in the list at #2. With Attack on Titan’s Guren No Yumiya taking the third spot, it is quite clear that fans are still raving about the series. However, Yoko Takahashi’s beloved A Cruel Angel’s Thesis proved its longevity by taking #4, almost 20 years since the song first made its debut.

There are plenty of anime songs which many would say should be on the list as well, but unfortunately, Charapedia can only name 10. So, what anime OP and ED songs do you think should be on the list? Would it be Digimon-01′s Butter-fly? Or Guilty Crown’s My Dearest?
