In real life, relationships between sisters and brothers are a big taboo. Incest is really looked down upon and many will be grossed out just by the idea of it. However, in anime, it seems to have become a trend in recent years with titles like OreImo and Yosuga no Sora.
“Siscon onii-sans” (big brothers with a sister complex) and “Brocon imoutos” (little sisters with a brother complex) have been quite common as of late that Japanese anime website Twi-Ani rates a few of them. Here they are:
Miyuki and Shiba Tatsuya from The Irregular At Magic High School
4 stars out of 5 (☆ ☆ ☆ ☆)
The anime adaptation of Tsutomu Satou’s best selling light novel series is one of 2014′s most hyped new anime series and so far, it has provided plenty of moments between the Shiba sibling which make you wonder what sort of relationship these siblings really have. It is pretty clear from the onset though that Miyuki has huge feelings for her brother and she often freezes her surroundings every time Tatsuya gets a bit cozy to a different woman.
Yuzuki and Kazuki Kurebayashi from Selector Infected Wixoss
4 stars out of 5 (☆ ☆ ☆ ☆)
As mentioned earlier, incest is considered a taboo in modern society, and Yuzuki Kurebayashi from Selector Infected Wixoss just wants to break that taboo and have her wish granted – to be in a relationship with her brother Kazuki without society looking down on them.
Akari and Toru Acura from Chaika -The Coffin Princess
3 stars out of 5 (☆ ☆ ☆)
The Saboteur Siblings, Akari and Toru Acura are extremely skilled when it comes to fighting, especially when protecting their employer, Chaika. It is pretty clear that Akari has one huge brother complex and gets very jealous every time Toru and Chaika get closer to each other. Toru on the other hand is a bit dense and cannot see his sister’s feeling for him, that’s why their relationship is only a 3/5. The 3/5 rating may also come from the fact that Akari is not blood related to Toru as she is only adopted.
Shiro and Sora from No Game, No Life
3 stars out of 5 (☆ ☆ ☆)
The brother-sister duo known as 『 』or blank is comprised of Shiro and Sora, and while they are most certainly really really close to each other (to the point that they won’t mind going mouth-to-mouth in order to win a game), the romantic relationship is a bit vague as both see each other as one half of a bigger entity. For that, they also just get 3 stars out of 5.
Sora and Haruka Kasugano from Yosuga no Sora
5 stars out of 5 (☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆)
Well, let’s just say this sibling pair really deserves their perfect 5/5 rating as they have shocked the world when they actually made love on national TV. The show certainly is controversial and it just makes Haruka and Sora one of the most legendary siblings in anime history.
Akiko and Akito Himenokouji from OniAi
3 stars out of 5 (☆ ☆ ☆)
Akiko Himenokouji has one serious case of the brother complex as she would stop at nothing to marry her brother and does not seem to mind that society thinks ill of such relationships. Her brother Akito on the other hand just thinks she is annoying and for that seemingly one-way sibling love affair, they only get three stars.
Nanoka Kohinata and Koshiro Saeki from Koi Kaze
5 stars out of 5 (☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆)
This sibling pair may not be as legendary as Haruka and Sora but they also did “that“. Their relationship got so close that they eventually fell in love with one another and then made love and breaking one of society’s biggest taboos.
Looks like Twi-Ani missed a few sibling pairs as they only mentioned seven. They seem to have missed one of the biggest incest relationships in anime… Kyousuke and Kirino Kosaka from OreImo who actually had a relationship with each other.
They also missed Nao and Shuusuke Takanashi from Oniichan no Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara ne
and Minato and Junichi Nagase from Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka
and let’s not forget these three, the sibling love triangle of Ako, Riko, and Keita Suminoe from Kiss X Sis.
Do you agree with the ratings of these siblings? How would you rate the ones not mentioned by Twi-Ani?
