The popular murder mystery video game, Danganronpa, will be getting its own live action stage play and its theater production company, Cornflakes, has announced that the role of Super High School Model Junko Enoshima has finally been cast and the one playing her was the voice of Anna in the Japanese dub of Walt Disney’s Frozen. Enter Sayaka Kanda.
Sayaka Kanda will be playing Junko who is considered by Danganronpa fans to be one of the toughest roles in the play because of her nature. Looks like Kanda will have to dig deep and release her inner madness in order to properly play the role. Kanda also has some voice acting experience as she has voiced Nadeshiko from comedy anime Binbougami-Ga!
She will be joining Kanata Hongou (Ryoma Echizen from the live action Prince of Tennis) who will be playing main character Makoto Naegi, Akira Ishida (not the voice actor) who plays Yasuhiro Hagakure, Ren Yagami who plays Mondo Oowada, Reina Ikehana who plays Celestia Ludenberg, Seitarou Mukai who plays Hifumi Yamada and manpei Takagi who plays Kiyotaka Ishimaru.
Spike Chunsoft’s Kazutaka Kodaka, who is one of the original video game’s creators will be supervising the play. Danganronpa The Stage will be held at the Nippon Seinenkan from October 29 – November 3, 2014.
