For its 25th Anniversary celebration, a new Ghost in the Shell anime movie will be premiering this early Summer 2015, and to promote that movie, a new cross-over collaboration has formed with fellow futuristic SciFi crime thriller, Psycho-Pass. A new promotional image has been released and it features Ghost in the Shell’s iconic main character, Motoko Kusanagi taking on the enforcers and inspectors of Psycho-Pass, led by Akane Tsunemori.
Will those Dominators even work on Motoko? The new visual is currently being advertised at the Shinjuku Station Concourse until January 10, 2015. It will not only promote Ghost in the Shell’s new movie, but also Psycho-Pass the movie which made its premiere yesterday. Both Psycho-Pass and Ghost in the Shell are produced by Production I.G.
Meanwhile, here is the teaser trailer for the new Ghost in the Shell movie
Ghost in the Shell is a 1995 anime movie based on the seinen manga written and illustrated by Masamune Shirow. Set in a post-cyberpunk world, Ghost in the Shell follows Motoko Kusanagi and the rest of the Public Security Section 9 as they deal with technological threats. It has become one of the best animated movies to ever come out of Japan and was so successful that even Hollywood has taken notice.
It will not just be getting a new anime movie, but a live action Hollywood version as well, and will star none other than Scarlett Johansson (The Avengers’ Black Widow/ Natasha Romanov).
