With its March 26, 2015 release fast approaching, new details on the latest Sword Art Online game by Bandai Namco, titled Sword Art Online Lost Song, have finally been unveiled and they focus on the gameplay and the new original characters who will be introduced in the game. A new key visual has also been unveiled
The game will be featuring three new original characters who will certainly make an impact on the game. The first character is a “Russian Scientist” named Seven. She dreams of a world without conflict and has studied along side Sword Art Online creator Akihito Kayaba. She is also the guild leader of Shamrock.
Nothing much has been unveiled for the new original character named Rain other than the fact that she is a mystery to everyone and that like Kirito, she can use dual wield and that she has an excellent hide ability.
Finally, the character known as Sumeragi is a member of Seven’s Shamrock guild, and like Asuna, he is an Undine. He is revealed to have been one of the few people to have beaten the mighty Salamander general, Eugene.
New gameplay details have also been unveiled, like the “Switch System” where players can switch with their partners when fighting monsters. Switching is an important tactic which will allow players to reserve their health and will let their partners have a go at monsters. With the new flight system in place in this new ALO world, the Switching gameplay will feel a bit more different than Hollow Fragment.
Players can also chain their basic attacks to make sword skills, as well as make use of powerful strikes, dashes, and jumps within the game. Players can also use guard against attacks from monsters and use a combination of magic and sword skills to form powerful techniques.
For online play, players can head to the tavern and then to the lobby where a maximum of 16 players are allowed. They can form a party of four members to go on quests and explore the world of ALO.
Sword Art Online: Lost Song is set for release on March 26, 2015 for the PlayStation 3 and the PS Vita. It was also announced that the game will have an English version for Asia.
