Sometimes, popularity means that people will really try and copy you, and that has happened with DMM’s ever-popular web browser game, Kantai Collection. A Chinese company known as Lóng zhū Digital Co. Ltd. has made a rip-off version of the game which is called Pakurin and it really does look and feel similar with KanColle
It has been marketed as a “Chinese version” of Kantai Collection, even though it features the real game’s Japanese audio. However, some bad news has been made for the game as it is now officially discontinued.
As of today, January 18, 2014, the game’s server is now down and its official website inaccessible. DMM, which produced Kantai Collection, has already known about the rip-off game from China and has previously stated that they “are not involved in the project” and “is considering an appropriate response”.
This however ain’t the only KanColle rip-off game from China, as another rip-off, this one a smartphone app, has also been spotted.
