The 54th Shizuoka Hobby Show has kicked off at the Shizuoka Twin Messe Hall in Japan yesterday and it featured plenty of new and upcoming plastic models and figures from some of the biggest manufacturers in the world, including Bandai, Tomy Tech, Hasegawa, Fine Molds, Aoshima, and many many more.
Let’s start things off with a company which needs no introduction when it comes to plastic models, Bandai, which featured new Star Wars plastic model kits along with a few Pokemon, One Piece, and train model kits. However, when it comes to Bandai PlaMo, the biggest draws were certainly their GunPla exhibits and announcements. The new announcements include the much talked about RG 1/144 Gundam Astray Red Frame and several new MG kits from Gundam Reconguista in G and the Build Fighters series.
And as we mentioned earlier, Bandai ain’t just all bout the GunPlas

For people who are more into scale models, Tamiya, Hasegawa, Platz, and Fine Molds have also shown their very best during the event. Tamiya showcased several cool military PlaMo while also featuring a few great ones from their Mini 4WD line. Hasegawa on the other hand showcased some Macross and Kantai Collection PlaMo along with their usual scale model kits while Platz and Fine Molds have both teamed up with military anime series, Girls und Panzer.

Tomy Tech alsom showcased a few military models, however, they also showed several figures as well, including new figmas and nendoroids!
Aoshima meanwhile was also a mix of figures and model kits as they featured both popular ship girl series, Kantai Collection AND Arpeggio of Blue Steel, along with a few military figures of course.
Finally, Kadokawa and ASCII Media Works have featured several new figures in their booth, along with some GunPla builds
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to tend to my wallet because it’s bleeding too much.
