With the manga being a bestseller and an upcoming live-action movie adaptation, Tokyo Ghoul is currently one of the hottest manga titles in Japan. Recently, manga creator, Sui Ishida, collaborated with men’s fashion magazine, Men’s No-no.
In that collaboration, titled “Tokyo Ghoul [Higeki] #001-2,” the manga creator will be recreating the opening chapters of his Tokyo Ghoul in full color, and he will also be adding brand new artwork. It will be appearing as a special printed appendix to the October 2016 issue of Men’s No-no, due out on September 10, 2016.
Here is a comparison of the new artwork (left) with Ishida’s original artwork from 2011 (right).
The mangaka will also be appearing in an interview inside the pages of the magazine, together with the live-action Tokyo Ghoul movie’s two leads, Masataka Kubota (Ken Kaneki) and Fumika Shimizu (Touka Kirishima). The movie will be making its premiere in 2017.
Previously, the movie adaptation was announced in the jacket cover of the Tokyo Ghoul: re manga’s Volume 7 cover, though it did not reveal much detail about the film itself.
