Re:Zero only 2nd in light novels?! Kono Light Novel Ga Sugoi 2017 winners revealed

Kono Light Novel Ga Sugoi is a guide to which light novels to follow for the upcoming year, and it is usually based on voting done online, and is usually used as a basis on how well a fans viewed a light novel throughout the year. This year was mostly dominated by one particular light novel series titled Re:Zero, however, the series didn’t make it to #1 in the light novel rankings! Here are the results:

Re:Zero may have dominated anime this year, but the light novel fell short of the top spot in the magazine’s rankings, falling short to lolicon light novel series, Ryuuou no Oshigoto!, which follows a Shogi champion who suddenly has to live with a 9-year-old apprentice. But even if Re:Zero did not take the top spot, it did do very well, with several characters doing well in the character rankings, and the series itself taking the #2 spot.

Meanwhile, Overlord takes the Novel section of these rankings, while A Certain series dominated the character rankings, with Touma and Mikoto taking the respective top spots, with Index, Othinus, and Accelerator placing in the Top 10 as well. And of course, notable light novels like Sword Art Online, KonoSuba, Monogatari, and My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU are all present and well represented.
