There will always be anime which have made us cry, and Japanese ranking website, Goo, has asked 500 people, 250 male, 250 female, to vote for which sad anime actually made them cry… or were unlucky enough to be watching when ninjas were cutting onions right beside them. Here are the Top 10 (or 11 since there were plenty of ties):
11/10 (tie) – Hikaru no Go and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion
9/8 (tie) – Your Lie in April and Slam Dunk
7 – Natsume’s Book of Friends
6 – Hanasaku Iroha
5 – The Girl who Leapt Through Time
4 – Kimi ni Todoke
3 – Dog of Flanders
2 – AnoHana
1 – Doraemon
What?! Doraemon?! How can a comedy anime be sad? in its long history, the anime actually has a few very emotional scenes, some of which have induced tears, and it seems that those were enough to win over tear-jerking powerhouses like AnoHana and Dog of Flanders.
