Since 1924, The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City has become an American tradition, and this year’s edition is a little bit more special, as it also celebrated 20 years of Pokemon, which was first launched in Japan for Gameboy back in 1996, with the original Red and Green versions.
The video features the return of the 16.3-meter Pikachu balloon, which was also featured in the 2014 edition of the annual parade. The video also announced that by posting a video of their individual Pokemon stories with the hashtag, #POKEMON20, Pokemon fans can get featured in the franchise’s 20th anniversary English website.
The 20th anniversary celebrations include the release of several new games, including Sun and Moon, Pokemon GO, and Pokken Tournament, as well as the reprints of old Pokemon cards for the trading card game, released for the latest expansion, Pokemon XY Evolutions, and the Pokemon Evolutions anime shorts.
