The Gundam series are currently on full display as the Aeon Mall Makuhari New City in Chiba Prefecture hosts the Gundam World 2014 in Makuhari exhibition.
The history of the Gundam franchise is exhibited showing its humble beginnings from the iconic and ground-breaking 1979 anime to the latest series, Gundam Build Fighters.
Historical GunPla were also on display from the original 1980 1/144 scale plastic model to the more modern MG’s and RG’s.

Life size heads of Char’s Zaku II and the RX-78-2 Gundam were also on display
The exhibition also offered a blast from the past with these Gundam merchandise from waaaaaaay back in 1980. Some are still in mint condition as well.
Char Aznable also has his own area within the exhibition and it is dedicated entirely to the Red Comet himself. Included are 1/10 scale models of his mobile suits, the Z’gok, the Zeong and the Sazabi as well as GunPla dioramas of his most epic battles against Amuro Ray.
The latest Gundam series, Gundam Build Fighters also has its own corner.
The exhibition started last December 20 and will be open until January 13, 2014. Entrance fee is 500 yen but elementary students can enter for free.
