An anime adaptation has been announced for Denkigai no Honya-san, a casual manga about life working in a bookstore in the middle of an otaku hub.
Written by Asato Mizu, Denkigai no Honya-san (The Bookstore of the Electric Town) begins when a shy boy named Umio starts a part-time job at a bookstore in one of Japan’s electric towns (shopping districts for games, movies, and electronics). As a member of Books Umanohone, Umio is surrounded by quirky co-workers, including a doujin artist, a zombie fangirl, and a guy who records awkward videos.
The anime adaptation of Denki-gai no Honya-san is scheduled to air this fall. The manga is currently being serialized in Kadokawa’s Comic Flapper and is available in six volumes.
