Madoka Magica is undoubtedly one of the biggest anime titles around and to celebrate its success, the highly popular magical girl franchise is currently holding the Madoka Magica Exhibition in Tokyo’s Ikebukuro district from May 3-6, 2014.
The doors to the exhibition open at 10:00 am, yet two hours before, the lines were already very long. The first day had so many people that there is a 90-minute wait just to get in.
Because of the sheer number of people who came during the first day alone, the event’s official twitter page,@ Madoka_event, tweeted a lot of announcements saying several event merchandise have already been sold out like the Madoka Magica cookies, several visual T-shirts and others.
Voice actresses Ai Nonaka (Kyouko Sakura) and Kaori Mizuhashi (Mami Tomoe) showed up during day 1 of the event to the delight of many fans. Emiri Kato (Kyuubei) and Aoi Yuuki (Madoka Kaname) will be appearing during the second day, May 4, 2014.
The event also has several Madoka-themed menu items, including a very cute (yet evil) Kyuubei ice cream which may or may not grant your wishes.
A figure Devil Homura was also spotted in the event
The event also featured several 1/1 scale figures of the magical girls, dioramas, as well as several artworks, screenshots and scene recreations and many more. Also provided are information on all five of the main girls.
The exhibition will only be until May 6, 2014 before it moves over to Osaka from May 17-18, 2014.
