The Spring 2014 anime season is already ready in full gear with many titles already halfway through their respective seasons. Japanese media website Recochoku has recently conducted an online poll and have announced their own Top 10 Spring 2014 Anime based on the results.
With a total of 1,620 respondents comprised of men and women from 10-50 years of age, 58.7% of which are female and 41.3% are male, here are their Top 10 Spring 2014 Anime:
10) Black Bullet
9) Still, The World is Beautiful
8) Kamigami no Asobi
7) No Game, No Life
6) Love Live!
5) Mekaku City Actors
4) One Week Friends
3) Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders
2) The Irregular at Magic High School
1) Hikyuu
With a majority of the survey’s respondents being female, it ain’t no surprise that volleyball anime Hikyuu takes the top spot as more than 90% of the female respondents have voted for the series. Other female-oriented anime like Kamigami no Asobi and Still, The World is Beautiful also make it.
The Irregular at Magic High School and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, which are popular among the male respondents meanwhile make it to #2 and #3 respectively and are proving that they are worth all the hype so far. One Week Friends’ heartwarming story meanwhile makes fans of both genders agree that it is a good anime and it makes it to #4.
Mekaku City Actors, one of the most highly hyped anime of the season seems to have gotten over its poorly rated premiere episode and continues to capture the hearts of many audiences as it takes #5. One big surprise may be the fact that Love Live! only makes it to #6 and Black Bullet, which has been widely received by many anime fans, is only at #10. Big names like Fairy Tail and Dragon Ball Z Kai did not even make it to Recochoku’s top 10 list.
