When the announcement that Masashi Kishimoto’s long-running and beloved ninja manga, Naruto, will be ending this November, fans had quite the bittersweet experience. To celebrate the manga, several college students from the Guangdong Province in China have recreated one of the series’ most famous arcs, which is the Chuunin Exams.
The Chuunin Exams introduced plenty of unforgettable Naruto characters like Gaara, Kankuro, Temari, and Kabuto. These characters, along with some Konoha ninjas like Naruto, Hinata, Sakura, Kakashi, Sasuke, Kiba, Tenten, and others, were cosplayed inside a setting which really looked like one of the Chuunin Exam’s examination rooms. Some were even dressed as random characters, mostly genin who are also taking the exams. At least 30 students donned costumes for this Naruto tribute.
To make it as accurate as possible, the test-takers were even given the questionnaires which Naruto and the others took while taking the exams. Since this is a ninja exam, please be sure that a lot of cheating was involved.
The test was may just the first part of the Chuunin Exams, but the scale these students have done to recreate it is simply just amazing. What an excellent tribute for an unforgettable series indeed.
Earlier this year, Naruto and his Shadow Clones (along with Kurama) danced their way to everyone’s hearts in a fiesta in the Philippines. With this Naruto tribute cosplay shoot in China, this just proves the series’ global appeal.
