Get ready to hack, slash, shoot, jump and button mash with our latest video game trailer round-up.
Let’s start off in Sengoku Era Japan with the very first trailer for Capcom’s much awaited Samurai slash-fest Sengoku Basara 4. The game is set during the Muromachi period, which takes place before the events of the original Sengoku Basara game. The trailer introduces us the ever-lovable “One-eyed Dragon”, Date Masamune and a host of other characters like Yoshiteru Ashikaga, Katsuie Shibata, Sakon Shima and Mitsunari Ishida. Sengoku Basara 4 is produced by Hiroyuki Kobayashi and directed by Makoto Yamamoto and will be released next year, 2014 for the PlayStation 3. (For more Sengoku Basara here on SGCafe, click here)
The 2013 San Diego Comic Con is now underway and cosplayers, gamers, geeks and otakus from all over the globe are attending this annual event. Now let’s take a look at the video games that are presented during the event. While we have already introduced the game play trailers for Sonic Lost World and Ace Attorney 5 (which were also shown during the event), we now let’s take a look at what else is in store from San Diego.
Let’s start off with the return of our favorite cypher-wielding ninja Hiryu who was last seen in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. His much awaited return was announced earlier by Capcom during the San Diego Comic Con and sure enough, Strider fans are going crazy. STRIDER will be released digitally next year, 2014, for Steam, Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network and will be playable for the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and the Xbox One. Also introduced in Comic Con is the latest trailer for Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIII series, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. This new “13 days” trailer gives us a look at the game’s story line as well as the myriad of costumes Lightning can wear throughout the game. Speaking of Lightning’s costumes, she can also suit up with Cloud’s Soldier uniform. (For more Final Fantasy here on SGCafe, click here)
The end has begun, 13 days to find the truth, 13 days to save the innocent, 13 days until the end…
Finally, with all this Kaijuu mania going on these days thanks to movies like Pacific Rim and the upcoming 2014 remake of Godzilla, we take a look at Level 5′s kaiju game, Attack of the Friday Monsters! A Tokyo Tale. The 3DS game is introduced by Millennium Kitchen’s Kaz Ayabe and introduces us to a boy named Souta who lives in a world where giant monsters attack every Friday and fights someone who suspiciously looks like Ultraman. The game is now available for download on Nintendo’s e-shop.
