It’s the kind of story us girls have always wanted: an unpopular high school girl catches the eye of the most popular guy in school. For sixteen-year old Mei Tachibana, this fairy tale becomes a reality. However, because of a prior experience, Mei has come to believe that it is human nature for people to betray each other. So, when Mei accidentally hits high school star Yamato Kurosawa and he takes a liking to her, she is wary at first.
But that doesn’t bother Yamato too much. When a stalker begins to bother Mei, Yamato thinks it is perfectly okay to chase the stalker away by kissing Mei. Their relationship from that point on is entertaining and heart-felt , to say the least.

Originally a manga by Kanae Hazuki that launched in 2008, Sukitte Ii na yo (“Say ‘I Love You’”) became an anime just last year. And now, as you can see on the jacket for the manga’s eleventh volume below, Sukitte Ii na yo got the green light for a live-action adaptation. If you’ve never heard of Say ‘I Love You’ and want to start now, you might want to begin with this newest issue because it will come with an original DVD too.
Who do you think should play main characters Mei Tachibana and Yamato Kurosawa? The movie isn’t set for release until 2014, so that gives you plenty of time to think about it and start reading!
