Images from the second live action Rurouni Kenshin movie have been released, giving us our first look at the live action versions of Aoshi Shinomori, Okina and Seta Soujirou.
Actor Yuusuke Iseya will be playing the poker-faced leader of the Oni Gang, Aoshi Shinomori. The new image shows Iseya as a battle damaged Aoshi with a few cuts and bruises. He is known for his role as Rikishi in the live action movie adaptation of Ashita no Joe as well as his role as Shinobu Morita in Honey and Clover’s live action movie.
Meanwhile, Min Tanaka will be playing Nenji Kashiwazaki who is better known by the name Okina or old man Okina. The new image shows the 68-year-old actor in costume while holding a cat. He previously appeared in Japanese movies like The Twilight Samurai and The Hidden Blade.
The image of the cold blooded Seta Soujirou meanwhile shows the emotionless teenage assassin contemplating under the shade of a tree. He is played by Ryunosuke Kamiki who is known for voicing Kenji Koiso from Summer Wars and Boh from Spirited Away. He also appeared in several live action TV dramas like Detective School Q and Bloody Monday.
The two Rorouni Kenshin sequels titled Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Taika-hen and Rurouni Kenshin: Densetsu no Saigo-hen will be shown simultaneously in Japan in Summer 2014. The two movies will once again star Takeru Satoh as Kenshin Himura/Battousai and Emi Takei as Kaoru Kamiya. Tatsuya Fujiwara has been confirmed to play the movie’s main villain, Makoto Shishio.
