Rise Kujikawa confirmed to be a new playable character in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax [Image]

This week’s issue of Famitsu magazine has revealed that Rise Kujikawa, who was previously an announcer and non-playable character in Persona 4 Arena (PS3), will be made into a playable fighter in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax (P4AU).

Details on Rise’s move set are sparse at the moment, but stay tuned to SGCafe — we’ll bring you more information of the game as they become available.

Famitsu’s reveal has in effect confirmed the rumours about the English version of the game launching on September 16, with a total of six new characters including Rise and Persona 3 character Ken Armada. Rise and Ken are currently not yet available for the Japanese arcade version of the game. The other four new fighters are Yukari Takeba, Junpei Iori, Sho Minazuki and a doppelganger version of Sho.

Hmmm. Interesting. Tohru Adachi was not mentioned to be amongst the playable cast, despite having made a brief cameo appearance in a trailer of Persona 4 Arena 2′s console version. Not yet, anyway.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax will be released for the PlayStation 3 later this year. You can pre-order the game right now from Play-Asia here.
