A new image posted from the preparations for this weekend’s 53rd Shizuoka Hobby Show has revealed that the very first model for Bandai‘s new 1/100 GunPla category will not be the RX-78-2 Gundam as many people might be expecting, but massive Nightingale which was piloted by Char Aznable during the events of the Gundam photo novel, Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack – Beltorchika’s Children.
The Nightingale is an updated version of the Sazabi and is much larger than its already massive predecessor.
The leaked image also revealed Project No. 02 and 03 for this new 1/100 GunPla category. Project No. 02 will be the Gundam Mk III while Project No. 03 will be the RX78GP04 Gundam Gerbara.
Looks like this new GunPla category will be focusing more on the mobile suits from the many Gundam side stories. More will be announced in days to come. The 53rd Shizuoka Hobby Show will be held from May 17-18 at the Twin Messe Shizuoka.
