Without a doubt, Hatsune Miku is slowly becoming a worldwide household name as the virtual diva will be the opening act for Lady Gaga’s Artpop tour.
Now, Miku is continuing her run with the biggest names in the international music scene as she has teamed up with renowned R&B artist Pharell Williams, Livetune and Japanese contemporary artist, Takashi Murakami for a new music video titled Last Night, Good Night (Re:Dialed) -Pharell Williams Remix.
Yes, that really is Miku singing and dancing alongside an animated version of N.E.R.D. drummer and vocalist Pharell Williams. The video also features the song’s composer, Livetune. According to Murakami, the song is
Somewhere in the eternity of outer space, Pharrell, Miku, and the composer of the song, livetune, are describing my film Jellyfish Eyes to a seemingly heartless, robot audience. Somehow the film’s message manages to reach the robots emotionally and cross the boundaries of time and space.
The announcement for the video was made by Murakami last May 12, 2014 during a press conference in Hong Kong.
