With Sega MMORPG Phantasy Star Online 2 also headed to the stage, following the success of several anime and video game musicals like Danganronpa and Gurren Lagann, a new Preview Video has been streamed by the official Phantasy Star Channel and it highlights the live action stage play’s all-star cast of renowned voice actors.
The video states that the play will center around a high school boy named Takaya, who plays Phantasy Star Online 2. However, for some unknown reason, several of the game’s player avatars begin to go berserk.
A cast video was also streamed and it featured the main cast members, who are also voice actors like Shouta Aoi, best known for voicing UtaPri’s Ai Mikaze, and Emi Nitta, best known for voicing Love Live!’s Honoka and Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere’s Malga. The video also stars Hello! Project idol, Koharu Kasumi, who will be playing Milla.
The play will be shown from December 4 to 7, 2014 over at the Aoyama Theater. It is being supervised by PSO2 producer Satoshi Sakai and PSO2 director Yuya Kimura.
