20 animated works have been submitted to be considered for nomination for Best Animated Feature Film for the 2015 edition of the Academy Awards, and two of these animated works are Japanese Anime movies.
These two Japanese anime movies have the chance to win one of the most prestigious film awards on Earth and they are Studio Ghibli‘s The Tale of Princess Kaguya and Giovanni’s Island by Production I.G.
Last year, both Madoka Magica: The Rebellion Story and Studio Ghibli’s The Wind Rises were submitted for nomination, but it was only The Wind Rises which received it. The Ghibli movie however failed to get the Oscar as it lost to Disney’s Frozen. Here is the complete list of animated feature films submitted for nomination:
